The Training Division
The Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District’s Training Division is responsible for the professional development and day-to-day training of 28 front line safety personnel including firefighter-paramedics, engineers, captains and battalion chiefs. Other duties include:
- Firefighter recruitment and outreach.
- Entry level testing and hiring.
- Management of the new recruit training academy.
- Probationary firefighter testing and evaluation.
- Training and Safety Committee oversight.
- Promotional testing process
- Liaison to the California State Fire Marshal, the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, the California Incident Command Certification System Committee, and the National Fire Protection Association.
